Blackened olive green-gold smokey eye with coral lips : FOTD and makeup breakdown

Hi everyone!

Today I’m doing the makeup breakdown of a look I recently posted in my favorite look of the week HERE. I love green eye makeup and I love doing smokey eyes- this look has the best of both!

Its a smokey eye with a blackened olive green -gold duochrome eye shadow from Coastal Scents that I picked up some time back. The look is very simple but looks interesting because of the complexity of this eye shadow. All I’ve done is smudged a black crayon kohl all over lid and lower lash line as base and applied this eye shadow generously all over the lid and softened at the crease. Lined the eyes with the same kohl, used a white-gold eyeshadow to highlight the inner corner, tear duct and browbone and Β finished off with mascara. Hope you like the look πŸ™‚

Summary of the look :Β

On a well moisturized face, conceal required areas, apply foundation and set with powder. For the eyes, apply black kohl on lid, waterline and lower lash line, soften the edges at the crease and smudge at lower lash line. Apply the olive green-gold eye shadow all over lid and on lower lash line and blend, highlight inner corner ,tear duct and brow bone, line upper lash line with the same kohl pencil and finish off with mascara. For the cheeks, apply a peachy brown blush as contour and apply a bronzer/highlighter on the cheekbones. Pair with a peach/coral lip gloss.

    1. OO sorry i mean its really luking beautiful on u….& i m imaging my self with this luk thats y the mistake….sorry ankita…its actually luking gud on u….

      1. Thanks Tina πŸ™‚ I’ll try to do a tutorial for this sometime..though I’ve written how I did it in the post..very simple- apply kohl pencil all over lid and soften at the edges, apply on waterline and lower lash line also. Then apply the eye shadow all over lid, and blend the harsh lines using a blending brush. Line the upper lash line with the same kohl pencil and lower lash line with the eye shadow, highlight brow bone and inner corner and finish off with mascara πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks Ik πŸ™‚ I’ve still not warmed up to Lychee Luxe so much..its looks much brighter in reality than how it appears in the pic- and I don’t know why I keep feeling its not looking good on me 😐

  2. wow ankita…too good…i wl try this out…will this work with the henna green colored e/s frm lakme’s tanjore rush eye shadow quartet ?

    1. Thanks Bidisha πŸ™‚ It would give a similar effect with the henna green from Tanjore rush quad πŸ™‚ Let me know how it turns out!

  3. Really gorgeous.. and that’s pretty much one shade? I thought it would be a complex combination of shadows! The gloss is really nice on you too.

    1. Thanks Shai πŸ™‚ Ya the shade itself it so complex and so gorgeous- just need a highlighter apart from that for a complete look!

    1. Thanks Parita πŸ™‚ The NYX Primer doesn’t blend easily and gives a bit of white cast- but it does make my foundation last longer and also gives a bit of a glow. Full review coming soon!

  4. Thanks for this combination. I have an olive eye pencil which is gorgeous, but it makes my face look tired. But I tried it with coral lips & it looked gorgeous!
