Today I’m reviewing the newly launched Colorbar True Gloss Lip gloss in a stunning orange shade ~ Nectar Orange.
Price : Rs 495 for 3.8 ml
My take on the Product
Colorbar True Gloss Lip gloss comes in a clear long tube packaging with a silver cap and a doe foot sponge applicator for application. I like the clean, simplistic packaging and love the fact that the applicator picks up enough product for a single application. You do not need to dip back into the tube for more product to cover the entire lip area.
True Gloss is basically a glossy, pigmented, opaque coverage, moisturizing, long lasting lip color. As you can see from this sentence, it has everything! Ohh I missed out non–sticky! It is one of the best formulations of lip products I’ve tried – it applies opaque and true-to-tube shade in a single stroke, doesn’t get patchy or uneven like some thick lip glosses do sometimes, feels very comfortable, light and hydrating on the lips and stays for a LONG time without getting sticky/drying or uneven. For those who like the coverage of a lipstick and the shine of a gloss, this is a MUST-HAVE product! It has a slightly thick texture (think Revlon Colorburst lip gloss, MAC Lip glass) but is almost non-sticky. The lovely glossy finish gives a fuller appearance to the pout as you can see in the pictures.
It is definitely a long wear product, I wore it for 8.5 hours and by the time I took it off, 60% of the color was still on my lips though the glossiness has faded off. But even after 8 hours, my lips did not look parched or dry though I felt like a needed a little moisture on my lips. I had 2 meals during this time and plenty of sips of water, it transfers very little to the rims of cups/glasses and doesn’t attract bits of food etc. I cannot think of a single con for this product, it absolutely stunning and totally worth its price!
The shade Nectar Orange is a vivid coral–orange which is bright but still quite wearable. There are more corals and oranges in this range which are a little brighter and lack that slightly dusty undertone of this shade. I would recommend this to duskier skin tones who find brighter oranges difficult to carry. When I swatched these at the Colorbar Bloggers Meet last week, I instantly loved this shade. I love the fact that Colorbar has so many options for Orange in their lip product range!
If you’re not into oranges, do check out the other shades in this range. There are a total of 10 shades in range from nudes to pinks, corals, reds and a plum.
The GOOD about Colorbar True Gloss Lip Gloss :
- Simplistic, clean packaging
- Even texture, spreads easily without patchiness
- Non sticky
- Long wear (6-8 hours)
- Very pigmented
- Full opaque coverage
- Doesn’t get patchy as it fades
- Gives a fuller appearance to the pout
- Doesn’t settle into lines
- Transfers very little
The NOT-SO-GOOD about Colorbar True Gloss Lip Gloss :
It is not very often that one comes across a product that delivers so well! Colorbar True Gloss Lip gloss is a pigmented, opaque lip gloss that is hydrating and long wearing without the discomfort and stickiness of long wearing lip glosses. I’d highly recommend this to everyone! Nectar Orange is a lovely coral-orange which is bright but not neon and this would be flattering on a lot of skin tones. If you’re still on the hunt for your perfect orange, do give this a try!
