My take on the Product
Faces Go chic lipsticks come in a black plastic packaging with the words FACES written across the tube over a silver band. The packaging is simple though one can tell its an inexpensive product from the packaging itself. Despite the slightly tacky packaging, the packaging is sturdy and the bullet swivels with ease. The cap may rotate in its place but doesn’t come off.
The texture of the lipstick is soft and smooth enough but doesn’t have the buttery softness of mid range/high end lipsticks, the pigmentation varies across the range and while the shades without shimmer glide smoothly, the ones’s with heavy shimmer have a bit of grittiness and aren’t as smooth. Single swipe gives medium intensity color which can be built up in another swipe to its full intensity. The formula is not moisturizing but it is not drying either. They don’t have a particularly creamy finish but they aren’t matte either, I guess they can be best described as having a satin finish (though some shades feel creamier than the others).
Both the red shades – Poppy Red and Copper Red applied smoothly and wore for about 4-5 hours leaving a soft stain behind. I did notice a bit of patchiness as the color was fading, more so with Cooper Red. They have a faint vanilla scent which I don’t particularly mind as it is quite mild. Overall, these are good lipsticks with no glaring drawbacks – they have a decent texture and wear for the price and are a good option for those looking for good quality budget makeup!
Poppy Red : It is a slightly warm leaning red with no shimmer/glitter. I like the finish and good pigmentation of this one more than Cooper Red. I think this should flatter many skin tones, the warm orangey tone it has is very soft and it looks almost like a neutral true red on me. If you’re looking for a budget true red lipstick, do check this out!
Cooper Red : This is a cool leaning red with minute silver shimmer. I do not like shimmer in my lip products unless they are glossy as well but the shimmer in this quite subtle and doesn’t look very obvious in the swatch or the on the lips. If pinkish reds are more your thing, try out Cooper Red. It looks slightly less intense than Poppy Red and looks quite pretty worn lightly blotted as a stain! The one drawback of this shade is that the shimmer is left behind after the color fades.
The GOOD about Faces Go Chic Lipsticks :
- Sturdy packaging
- Smooth texture
- Glide without tugging on the lips
- Good pigmentation
- Decent wear time
- Not drying on the lips
- Wide shade range
- Very affordable!
- Good quantity (4.5 g)
- Get slightly patchy as they fade
- Formula is not moisturizing
- The texture is not as smooth or creamy as I would like
Faces Go Chic lipsticks are affordable lipsticks that are decently smooth in texture, have good pigmentation and wear well without drying out the lips. In this price range, they are definitely one of the best lipsticks I’ve tried and I’d recommend these to women looking for a good quality budget lipstick! 2 red worth checking out in this range are Poppy Red (Slightly warm red with no shimmer) and Cooper Red (pinkish red with subtle silver shimmer).
