What Lakme says about the Eyeconic Kajal & Mascara :
Indian women are blessed with gorgeous deep set eyes and to help highlight this feature, Lakmé has launched Lakmé Eyeconic – a revolutionary range consisting of kajal and mascara. The new Eyeconic Kajal by Lakmé is literally iconic as all you need is one sweep of kajal and it lasts for 10 hours. The product is waterproof, it doesn’t smudge and it is even safe for the eyes since it is dermatologist tested. Complete your look with lots of Eyeconic Curling Mascara. The mascara gives the eyes an intense black finish and comes equipped with a curling brush that helps give curves to your lashes. It is also enriched with D-Panthenol – a moisturizer which keeps lashes soft and smooth. The product makes the eyes look brighter and adds a perfect sparkle to your entire look.
The Eyeconic kajal and mascara by Lakmé forms the perfect combination in creating a look that is sure to get you noticed! You can now transform your look from drab to fab with just a little kajal and a hint of some mascara.
My take on the Lakme Eyeconic Kajal
The Lakme Eyeconic Kajal comes in sleek black twist up liner form with hints of turquoise in the packaging which gives it an attractive look! The advantage of the twist up packaging is that there is not wastage due to sharpening of the pencil but the downside is that you might not be able to get thin/sharp lines.
The kajal is smooth and creamy, it glides easily on the waterline with no tugging. It is well pigmented and deep black but I won’t call it the darkest black I’ve come across (Lakme Absolute Ultimate Kohl). It dries to a matte finish few seconds after application but not before one has the chance to smudge/soften it. I was not expecting very long wear with this. Kohls rarely stay on my waterline beyond 4 hours but I was pleasantly surprised by the long lasting power of the Eyeconic Kajal. I wore it for the full 10 hours it is claimed to last and it actually did last that long! Apart from the bit of fading from the outer and inner corners, the kohl was intact on my waterline which I think is absolutely brilliant for a kohl at this price. It does not bleed into the lower lash line nor does it smudge.
I felt no irritation in my eyes while testing this. I wear lenses and I found this completely safe and comfortable on my eyes. I also wore this as a liner on my upper lash line and it stayed intact till I removed it at the end of the day. It transferred a little bit to the socket line after 6-7 hours of wear but that was hardly visible unless you looked really close up. It comes off fairly easily with any cream/oil based remover. Overall, I think its a fabulous product! The only con I can think of, if I’m really being picky, would be that its not the darkest black I’ve come across.

My take on the Lakme Eyeconic Curling Mascara
The Lakme Eyeconic Mascara comes in an asymmetrically shaped tube packaging with a curved wand. The bristles are closely arranged on the wand and the wand is fairly thin which makes it easier to reach the inner lashes and lower lashes. Similar to the Kajal, the packaging has the word Eyeconic written across in turquoise which gives a lively touch to the black packaging.
The mascara is neither too runny nor too thick, it doesn’t take long to dry and is water–resistant. The wand doesn’t pick up too much product but I still find that it clumps my lashes a little bit if I do more than 1 coat. I find that I need to dip back into the tube to get more product for the tips of my lashes if I want a heavier look. The curved wand does make it a little but easier to reach all lashes but I feel perfectly comfortable with the regular wands too. The curve it not sufficient to fit my eye shape exactly but with so many different eye shapes, its difficult to create one wand that fits all! As far the effect goes, it does give some curl, quite a bit of length and but no volume. It definitely opens up the eyes and gives a neat, even look (clumping aside). I think the effect is good enough for daily wear but I won’t reach out for it if I’m doing a more dressy look. It comes off fairly easily with any eye makeup remover – I alternate between the Maybelline one and the Clarins one and both work well.
Overall, I like the mascara but its not as great as the Kajal. It may be my personal preference for Volumizing Mascaras stepping in here but I don’t like the fact that it clumps a bit if do more than 1 cat. The one thing I like this mascara for is the lower lash line, the thin curved wand is very convenient and I can easily apply it without getting the product on the skin. Would recommend it to those who like mascaras with a subtle effect or for daily wear.

Lakme Eyeconic Kajal : Smooth, creamy, well pigmented, not the darkest black around but lives up to its claims. Smudge-proof, waterproof, stays put on the waterline for nearly 10 hours and comes off easily with remover. Rating : 4.75/5
Lakme Eyeconic Mascara : Curved thin wand that gives some curl and length, dries fast and is water-resistant but clumps a bit. Decent enough for daily wear but I prefer more dramatic mascaras. Love it for the lower lashes. Rating : 4/5
