I’m very excited to show you my first Japanese beauty haul! I’ve been lemming for NARS since forever and it was on top of my list when I came to Japan. I picked 2 products from the brand – a blush and an eye shadow duo. From the more budget end of things – I picked a few products from Maybelline, L’Oreal (though they are much pricier here as compared to India), Rimmel, Majolica Majorca, Shiseido, Canmake and Kanebo. Enjoy the pics!
Baby Skin Pore Eraser (1260 JPY, Rs 746)
The Milky Jewels Colorsensational Lipstick RS 618 (945 JPY, Rs 560)
ColorShow Blush’em 03 (840 JPY, Rs 497)
Nude in the Box Eye shadow palette (1260 JPY, Rs 746)
Considering how pricey imported brands are here, I thought this 5 shadow palette is quite a steal at its price! I love the shade combination – 3 shimmery shades with 2 mattes. I can’t wait to try this one!
Lucent Magique Pure Light Primer (1680 JPY, Rs 995)
Shine Caresse Lip color – Bella (1575 JPY, Rs 932!! – Rs 499 in India)
I’ve heard good reviews of the Lucent Magique range in general and I liked the consistency of the primer. Hoping it turns out good! The Shine Caresse lip colors have just launched in India (at such an amazing price too!) and I couldn’t resist picking one after seeing so many great reviews! Would have picked another shade had it not been so expensive here.
Playgirl False Lashes – Play Cute #2 (1050 JPY, Rs 621)
Dear Laura Pa speckled nail paint (399 JPY, Rs 236)
Shiseido Integrate Lash Primer (1050 JPY, Rs 621)
Kanebo Lipstick RS 03 (895 JPY, Rs 530)
Canmake Cream Cheek CL04 (600 JPY, Rs 355)
Integrate is a Shiseido brand that is very commonly available here and is decently priced too. I’ve never tried a lash serum/primer, excited to see how this turns out! Kanebo and Canmake are both Japanese brands and the cream blush is one of the best selling Canmake products. The Kanebo lipstick feels quite luxurious in its sleek packaging and smooth texture – love it!
Eye makeup products like mascara, liner, brow products and false lashes are VERY popular in Japan. Most brands have cheaper eye shadows and mascaras than lipsticks. You can’t miss false lashes when you’re here and I picked up this set of 5 from a small store at the station. The range of false lashes here is amazing and you see women wearing them quite regularly here!
Puff de Cheek -Raspberry Macaron (1360 JPY, Rs 805)
I picked this only because I found it incredibly cute! This brand has really pretty packaging – its part of the Shiseido empire.
Skin care kit (1070 JPY, Rs 633)
I was in need of a few skin products and I really liked this mini kit. The products will easily last me a month if not more. It consists of a Creamy oil (oil cleansers are very popular here), Milky mousse foam (face wash), Moisture Lotion (like toner) and Moisture Emulsion (moisturizer). These kind of Shiseido kits are easily available in convenience stores here.
And saving the best for the last..
Blush – Torrid (3000 JPY, Rs 1776)
Eye shadow duo – Surabaya (4000 JPY, Rs 2368)
NARS has such an amazing blush range, it was hard to narrow down my choices but I went with Torrid – a peachy coral with gold shimmer. I checked out the infamous Orgasm but it seemed very shimmery on my skin with more shimmer than color. I was confused between Surabaya and Cordura eye shadow duos – went with Surabaya in the end. I also wanted the Satin Lip pencil but the shade I wanted (Luxembourg) was sold out!
