Today I’m reviewing the Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Compact which I’ve been using for the past month. The Face Stylist range is a new addition to the Absolute lineup and features a new foundation, a concealer, compact and blush duos.

My take on the Product
The Lakme Absolute Face Stylist range comes in a very sleek and compact packaging. The pressed powder comes in a circular pan and contains a mirror on the underside and a slim puff applicator. Compared to the other compact in the Absolute range, this packaging is slimmer and much more compact. I like the clean, no frills packaging.
The pressed powder has a silky, smooth texture and is finely milled. However its not too soft so the brush doesn’t kick off excess powder in the pan (a problem I faced with the Absolute White Intense cover compact). The powder blends like a dream, it just melts into the skin taking away shine, without adding a dry, matte finish. When applied over foundation, it doesn’t give a heavy cakey look – its on the sheerer side and best used as a setting powder. By itself, it it gives minimal coverage. It gives decent (but not great) oil control but my T-zone is not too oily right now, the real test would be in the summers. On the upside, because its a silky, sheer powder, it doesn’t catch onto dryness and can be used by all skin types. The texture and blendability is much better than some of the cheaper compacts I’ve tried (Maybelline’s Dream Matte, Lakme’s Absolute white intense cover).
It comes in 5 shades and I use #02 Rose Fair which is an good match for my skin. Because its not a high coverage powder, I think 5 shades should cover many skin tones. What I really like about Lakme base products is that the shades have enough yellow tones so they never look ashy or grey on the skin. Overall, I like this pressed powder a lot and would recommend it if you’re looking for a good setting powder!
The GOOD about Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Compact :
- Slim, compact, sleek packaging
- Smooth, silky texture
- Finely milled powder
- Blends easily into the skin
- Takes away shine
- Sets foundation/concealer
- Doesn’t give a cakey look
- Doesn’t give a dry looking finish
- Comes in 5 shades
What I don’t like about Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Compact :
Overall, I love it as a setting powder for my foundation and concealer. Its silky and smooth in texture, melts into the skin without a powdery finish, takes away shine without giving a dry look to the skin and is slim and compact enough to carry in one’s handbag. Its pricey for a Lakme product but there’s nothing I don’t like about it – it feels more like a high-end product in terms of texture and blendability!
