Today I’m reviewing a beautiful 4-in-1 hybrid lipstick formula from Deborah Milano – the Red Laque Lipstick in shade #9.
Price : Rs 845
What Deborah Milano says about the product :
With unbeatable performance and a revolutionary 4-in-1 formula, it blends the comfort of a luxury lipstick with the hydration of a lip balm, the lacquer like shine of a lip gloss, and the deep, lasting colour of a lip stain.
Ingredients include Hydra-Gel Laque DH Complex, which releases a soft, lightweight film that instantly melts into lips. The pigment-rich formula leaves full, brilliant, fade-resistant colour. Hypoallergenic* The new Milano Red laque lipstick has a delicate violet scent.
My take on the Product
The Red Laque lipstick comes in a golden tube with a clear band in the center so you can easily see the color of the product. I like the packaging especially the applicator that comes inside – its curved to fit the curve of the lips nicely. The texture of the product is like a thick gel cream. Its fairly easy to spread, applies uniformly and feels very cushion-y and comforting on the lips. The lipstick-gloss hybrid formula envelopes the lips in a film of hydrating color. It gives a smooth, glossy, luscious appearance to the lips. The coverage is medium is single swipe so on pigmented lips, the color appears a little different from the swatch (you can see the color looks slightly darker on my upper lip as its more pigmented). You can however layer the product for more opaque coverage. Even though its doesn’t feel completely non-sticky after some time, it feels quite light-weight and comfortable on the lips.
While I really liked how the lip color looks and feels on my lips, I wish it stayed better. Without eating/drinking, it stays well (3.5-4 hours) but it definitely doesn’t survive a meal or stain the lips (as claimed). The wear time isn’t bad by any means for a gloss but it claims to be long wearing/staining so I was a little disappointed in that aspect. The product has a strong violet scent (smells very similar to Guerlain lip gloss, also violet scented!) which everyone may not love. I don’t mind it personally. Even though I quite like the product, I wish it was priced a little lower!
Rating : 4/5
#9 is a beautiful vibrant berry color that applies a little darker on my lips. By adding a second layer, the color looks a little brighter and less dark as it covers up the pigmentation better. Worn either way, I love the color on myself – its bright but not too bold yet not too dark. Recommended!
