My take on the Product

I’ve tried a few skincare bits from Shiseido and other Japanese brands and I know foaming cleansers are quite popular in this part of the world. I’ve been averse to foaming cleansers in the past because they feel very strong and drying on the face but I like this one (though it has its cons). It comes in a white squeeze tube packaging with a flip open cap. A small amount yields plenty of dense foam so this large tube will last me a long time. The key to using a foaming cleanser correctly is to really work up the lather before touching the face. I take a pea sized amount of this on my palm, add some water and lather it up fully. I then gently massage this lather on my damp skin for about half a minute and then rinse it off. Don’t be fooled by the gentle bit in its name, its actually quite effective in cutting through makeup, oil and dirt. After rinsing, my skin feels very fresh and clean, I get no traces of impurities on the cotton pad when I use the toner after cleansing. If you have clogged, breakout prone skin, an effective thorough cleanser like this can really help in clearing up the skin. It definitely helped me get rid of recurring breakouts on my jawline. I think this is a fantastic cleanser for summers/oily skin.

Coming to the cons – firstly, its not as gentle as you would expect from a product described as an extra gentle cleanser. I would not recommend this for people with dryness issues as this can make the skin slightly dry. My second issue with this product is the fragrance – it is really heavily scented and while on most days I find it pleasant, I wish it wasn’t so strong. Fragrance in skincare is a known irritant so if you have very sensitive skin, try a sample before picking the full size. Overall though, since I have neither dry nor sensitive skin, this product works well for me. It cleanses thoroughly and I love the feeling of cleansed skin in the summer when my skin goes into overdrive. I would recommend this to people with normal to oily skin.

  1. I use Clarins Gentle Cleanser with cottonseed and thats supposed to be for normal to combination I think. That gives me a squeaky clean feeling.. is that how you’d describe this one?

  2. Seems like a a good cleanser. Also appreciate that “Non-Comedogenic” is actually mentioned on the packaging.

Really wish there were more such options available in India, in drugstore brands as well.

    1. Some of the Garnier cleansers are described as Non-comedogenic….and works fine too if ur skin falls in the normal to oil category…

    1. Hey Nia, I have removed Sanchi’s comment. I didn’t realize she was using Arzoo’s picture as her display pic.
