Best of 2014 : Blushes

Hey everyone!

Continuing the Best of 2014 series, we have blushes next. I feel 2014 was the year of blushes and lipsticks because I have loads of these to talk about! There are 7 cheek products that I loved using in 2014, lets have a look –

1. Chanel Cream Blush (Revelation)

Revelation is my first blush Chanel blush and I absolutely adore it. The cream to powder formula is really easy to work with and the soft warm pink color is just perfect to add a healthy flush of color to the cheeks. Love the sleek packaging as well.

2. Canmake Cream Cheek (CL04)

Another cream blush that I loved using in 2014 is from the other end of the price spectrum – a really inexpensive budget one from the Japanese drugstore brand Canmake. I have 2 of these but CL04 (a bright pink) is the one that I end up using most often. The gel like formula adds a lovely dewy sheen to the cheeks and a gorgeous pink flush that I love in winters!

3. MAC Alluring Aquatic Collection Blush (Sea Me, Hear Me)

There was a time when I used to splurge on MAC a lot especially on Limited Edition releases but that has reduced substantially now. But the one product that I could not resist was this lovely neutral earthy pink blush from the Alluring Aquatic Collection. I don’t generally wear a lot of understated blush shades but this one I really like. The formula is silky smooth, easy to build up and looks very polished on the cheeks.

4. NARS Powder Blush (Torrid)

I am now the proud owner of 3 NARS blushes – Amour, Torrid and Outlaw (just bought it last week!). Torrid was my 2014 pick and I wore it quite a lot especially in the spring and summer. This warm coral color with its gold pearl is just fabulous on Indian skin. The formula is finely milled, smooth, very pigmented and stays on quite well!

5. Clinique Cheek Pop Blusher (Peach Pop)

These Cheek Pop blushes from Clinique made it to almost every monthly/yearly favorites lists of the beauty community I think! Beautiful packaging, great formula and a select but fabulous selection of colors made these a sure hit. I picked the shade Peach Pop – a vibrant silky peach color that adds a beautiful warm glow to the cheeks. The texture of these blushes is unbelievably smooth and these last really long!

6. Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush (Flush)

Tarte blushes have been around for a while but I only discovered them in 2014 (thanks to Sephora for starting shipping to Japan in 2014!). I picked the shade Flush which is a delicate berry pink shade that goes perfectly with the plum toned eye looks I love. The formula is great (not as silky as the Clinique blushes but good nonetheless). I find these long wearing and really easy to blend.

7. Revlon Cheek Highlighting Palette (Bronze Glow)

5 shimmering strips of coordinated colors – reminds you of the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks, doesn’t it? I love the BB Shimmer Bricks but it was the Revlon one that I ended up using (and loving!) extensively in 2014. The mix of colors is very flattering on the Indian skin and the shimmer is just right so you can wear this as a blush as well. You might recall seeing a lot of this one in my September Daily Look Challenge.

[note color=”#FFE4C4″]And this rounds up all the blushes I loved using in 2014! I would also like to mention NYX powder blushes that I hauled loads of in 2014. I have a lot of shades now but the ones that I used the most were Pinched (golden coral), Silky Rose (warm rose) and Amber (earthy deep rose). I would love to know what blush/cheek products you loved using in 2014. Let me know your picks in the comments below! [/note]
