Coastal Scents Revealed 3 Palette Review

The Revealed 3 palette comes in a cardboard packaging with a magnetic closure and 2 rows of 10 shadows each. The packaging isn’t luxe but feels sturdy and compact. I do wish it had a mirror though. The texture of most of the shadows is really smooth and silky though 2 of the shimmers are slightly drier than the rest. While I like the buttery texture, the shadows are a bit powdery so there is a bit of fallout in the pan and during application. The color pay off of most of the shadows is pretty good except 2 shadows which have so-so pigmentation (the right most shade in the first tow and the third shade from the left in the bottom row). Most of the dark shades are quite rich and nicely pigmented. What truly impresses me about this palette is the wear time of these shades. I get exceptional wear time (10+ hours) without a primer and that is really saying something. I have tested these with primer and without and you honestly do not need a primer because they do not crease or fade even without one.

Revealed 3 is mostly a cool toned palette with lots of purple and lavender tones. There are some warmer colors like a matte brown and a warm gold to balance things out. I like the deeper purples from the palette but the lighter shades look a bit ashy on my complexion. There is plenty of variety in the palette – mix of matte/shimmer shades and light to dark colors which gives room to create many different looks. I like the palette but I prefer Revealed 1 or 2 simply because the color palette in the previous palettes is more flattering for my warm coloring. I would recommend this to ladies to love lavender/purple shades or cooler eye shadows in general!

Overall, this palette is consistent with the quality and variety that I love about the previous Revealed palettes and its a great buy at $20. The Urban Decay Naked palettes aren’t easy on the pocket and you can get almost the same shades with the Revealed palettes at a much lesser price. You get 20 shades – nearly all of which have a really nice formula that wears great without the need of a primer. If I could improve something about the formula – I would like the texture to be a little less powdery and more firm. But apart from that, love the Revealed series!

  1. Nice review…
Which lipstick you have used in this..i love ur lip color.
I have one question ankita…After expiry date of cosmetic, do we really need to throw off the product ?:( 🙁

because lots of products I have not used and got expired from my vanity case

    1. Yes you need throw out the product. Some brands like MAC have a program called Back to MAC where you can give in 6 old/empty MAC products and receive a free lipstick in exchange.

  2. hi,ankita…i’m beginner in using makeup…i would like to know how long is d expiry period of each makeup product and makeup brushes…i dnt find myself using makeup on regular basis .and also finish the product.how to keep using makeup for long….how do u manage urs?do you finish all the products that you buy?how do u make space for new products….i mean u wl b hvn pretty huge collection f makeup…i hope i dnt sound stupid

    1. Cream and liquid products have a shelf life of 2-3 years and powders generally can be kept for upto 4 years. Mascara needs to be tossed out in 6 months. Look out for the expiry date on the product packaging as well. Makeup brushes can last you for many many years. Cheaper brushes might wear out and lose their shape in some time but most medium to high end brushes last a long long time. To keep makeup fresh as long as possible, try to use clean brushes and applicators and if using fingers, make sure they are clean and sanitised as bacteria can grow in creams and liquids very easily. I generally toss out foundations in 3 years and other products when they start to show signs of expiry – like change in texture, color or scent. Like older MAC lipsticks lose their vanilla scent and start smelling slightly plastic like and nail polishes separate into layers -these indicators generally tell you its time to throw out the product.

  3. Hi ankita Im kinda new to eye makeup that’s why I don’t wanna spend a lot of money on eyeshdow pallete …so can u pls suggest which one is better from this reveled series palette as a beginners
