Forest Essentials Delicate Facial Cleanser Review
This cleanser is a part of Forest Essentials wipe-off range and has a cream consistency. The 200 ml pump bottle is functional and attractive. Forest Essentials products tend to smell strong and this one is no different. It’s a milky+lavender+floral kind of scent. Very soothing!
The cleanser is expected to cleanse, firm and retain moisture and I feel it does all that quite well. I’ve been using this delicate facial cleanser as cleansing milk, makeup remover and cream cleanser for the last few months. One 200 ml bottle lasts for good 5-6 months so it is a good value for money and it’s a natural and nasties-free product too.
As a cleanser, it’s great for taking off dust and other impurities from skin. About 3 pumps of product on a cotton wool is enough for the whole face. However, since it’s very thick, cotton wool can feel quite harsh on skin if over-rubbed. As a makeup remover, this is quite effective in taking off light makeup in single swipe. For water proof and stubborn makeup, you’d certainly need to use more product and repeat. I prefer using it straight from the bottle on to my made up face, sans the cotton pad. It saves both the product and face (from over scrubbing).
I’ve noticed a warm tingling sensation when I massage it on skin. The cleanser tends to absorb in so needs to be rinsed with warm water. My favorite way to use this cleanser is as an everyday morning cleanser. If you take good care of your skin before hitting bed at night, there’s hardly any gunk to take off in the morning. I like to retain moisture for the day so I use a pump or two of this as a cream cleanser, massage it in for few seconds and follow up with a luke warm water rinse.
As it’s essentially a non foaming creamy formula, it leaves skin supple and soft, no moisture loss so to speak of. Since I have dry skin, this cleanser is perfect for dry winter weather. It’ll also be a perfect morning cleanser for me throughout the year. For oily skin, this Soya milk cleanser will be good as a daily makeup remover as it’s quite gentle and effective. With no parabens and sulfates, it’s a great multi-purpose product to have on your bathroom shelf.
