The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Scrub, Body Butter : Review

Hey everyone!

Today I’m reviewing the newest launch from The Body Shop India – the Fuji Green Tea bath and body range! Infused with real green tea leaves hand picked from the foothills of Mount Fuji in Japan, this range is an excellent way to refresh and and revive your body and senses. I’ll be reviewing the Body Scrub and Body Butter from this range.

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Scrub (Rs 1295 for 250 ml)

The Body Scrub comes a clear jar packaging and contains a gentle gel based scrub. The scent of this range is very refreshing and uplifting with a distinct green tea note. The citrus and flowery notes complement the tea note beautifully. The scrub contains micro granules and green colored pods in a gel base that gently exfoliate the skin. The scrub feels really gentle and its something you could easily use everyday. I wasn’t expecting much buffing action since it seemed really mild but I was surprised to notice how clean and smooth my skin felt after use. It didn’t dry my skin or leave any residue just left my skin refreshed and nicely cleansed! The scent isn’t heavy so it doesn’t linger really after a bath.

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Butter (Rs 1095 for 200 ml)

The body butters from The Body Shop are iconic and even though the Mumbai climate makes it difficult to use buttery products on the body, I’ve been hooked to this body butter. The texture is creamy but it feels light on the skin. I use a tiny amount after using the scrub and it absorbs well into the skin leaving a satiny feel behind. If you have drier skin, you could use a little more quantity. The scent is soft and mild – green tea notes offset by lemony and flowery notes which makes it very refreshing and relaxing. If you don’t relish the idea of a body  butter, you could also try out the Body lotion or Body Sorbet from the same range, both of which have a lighter formula. The scent is not heavy but it does linger a little bit on the skin for a couple of hours. To make the scent last longer, you could use the Eau de Cologne from the same range to layer the scent!

Overall Thoughts

The Fuji Green Tea range from The Body Shop is a nice change from the fruity and flowery ones that the brand does usually. The scent of this range definitely reminds me of green tea and is tempered by the refreshing and soothing notes of citrus and white flowers. The overall effect is very refreshing and relaxing! The range has been created from real green tea leaves from Mount Fuji, Japan and I’d like to think that my body is getting some anti-oxidant benefits when I use this range. Even though I’m not the biggest fan of matcha, I do like the uplifting, gentle fragrance of this range and find myself looking forward to using these products!

The full range contains a Body Wash, Body Scrub, Exfoliating Soap, Body Sorbet, Body Lotion, Body Butter and an Eau de Cologne.

The Fuji Green Tea range is now available across The Body Shop outlets in India.
