Festive Special : How to fast the refreshing way!

 

The festive season is in full swing and traditional fasts have begun. While we love munching on those sago and potato preparations, here are some interesting and ‘upvaas friendly’ recipes from Lipton. These are definitely going to make the fasts a lot more enjoyable! Go ahead and try these green tea recipes for a different fasting experience! With the Diwali festivities and parties, we tend to eat a lot of sweet and fried items, always to regret it later! 1. Sparkling Fruity Green Tea

Recipe Serves – 4 | Prep Time – 15 min | Chill Time – 2 hr | Brew Time – 3 min

Ingredients :
3 cups (750 mL) water
6 Lipton Green Tea Bags
1/2 cup chilled purple grape juice
1 medium orange, sliced
1 medium lemon, sliced
1 medium lime, sliced
1/4 cup chilled club soda

Directions :  Pour boiling water over Lipton Green Tea Bags in teapot; cover and brew 3 minutes. Remove Tea Bags and squeeze; stir and cool. Combine tea with remaining ingredients except soda in large pitcher; chill at least 2 hours. Just before serving, add soda. Pour into ice-filled glasses.

2. Green Tea Iced Tea

Recipe serves – 4 | Prep Time – 5 min | Brew Time – 3 min

Ingredients : 
4 cups (1 L) boiling water
6 Lipton Green Tea Bags
1 Tbsp. honey

Directions : Pour boiling water over Lipton Green Tea Bags in teapot; cover and brew 3 minutes. Remove Tea Bags and squeeze; stir in honey and cool. Pour into ice-filled glasses and garnish, if desired, with lemon or orange slices. Enjoy!

3. Fruity Green Tea Smoothie

Recipe Serves – 2| Prep Time – 10 min | Chill Time – 15 min

Ingredients :
1 cup water
4 Lipton Green Tea with Honey Lemon Tea Bags
1 ripe banana
1/2 cup ice cubes

Directions : Pour boiling water over Lipton Green Tea with Honey Lemon Tea Bags; cover and brew 1-1/2 minutes. Remove Tea Bags and squeeze. Stir in sugar and chill. In blender, process tea, banana and ice cubes until blended. Enjoy!

  1. & that true we indians are famous to eat lots of potatoes & oily deep fried food during the fasts.. but during fasts i like to eat/drink.. Fruits , curd & milk, fresh juice..
