It is not often that I’m disappointed by a Colorbar product but unfortunately the Colorbar Brow Pencil did not live up to my expectations. Brow pencils should ideally have a slightly dry texture and the color should be sheer so that you don’t up with heavy, overpowering brows. This brow pencil feels very creamy and the color is so rich that you’d think this is a gel eye liner pencil and not a brow pencil. That doesn’t go to say that it is not usable but you need to be very careful with this. The first time I swatched this on the back of my hand, a good chunk of the tip broke off because it was so soft and creamy.

I hope Colorbar considers reformulating this to a harder, drier formula because this kind of creaminess and intense color just doesn’t work well in an eyebrow pencil. The color is a very intense dark brownwhich should suit people with dark brown/black brows but a lighter option would be nice too as this would quite dark and intense for anyone with lighter brows. The one thing in its favour is the spoolie at the other end which is very handy to brush the brow hair into place.

As you can tell, I’m not a big fan of the product. If you’re on the lookout for an eyebrow pencil or kit, I’d suggest Rimmel/Maxfactor/Maybelline for brow pencils and Natio/L’Oreal Paris for brow kits.

  1. This is my first ever brow product and at first I didn't like it but since cannot waste I tried using very light strokes as if it barely touches the skin underneath brows but just brow hair and it works for me 🙂 As Komal mentioned I should try with an angled brush *somehow I am lazy with brushes as one more to wash* hahaha
