Hi everyone! Sorry for lack of posts since the past two weeks. My old (and very well used!) Sony DSLR camera broke down and I was unable to take any new pictures. I considered taking using pictures from my iPhone but having used a DSLR for so long, I just didn’t like how the images from the phone turned out. Last week I ordered the new Canon 80D which finally arrived earlier this week and I’m so relieved to have a working camera with me again! The camera is great (though it’ll take me some time to learn to get the most out of it) and these are the first batch of product pictures I took today for the review.
Today I’m reviewing the Almond, Pistachio and Honey Cleansing paste from Forest Essentials. You might recall this from one of my favourites video some time back. This nourishing cleansing paste has become a staple in my bi-weekly exfoliating and masking routine!
Price : Rs 1870 for 30 g
About the product (from brand website) : A traditional blend of rich Almond,Pistachio and fresh Turmeric paste gently cleanses, while deeply nourishing and replenishing the skin every day. This also contains natural hydrators including Buttermilk, Floral waters, Organic Honey and fresh Aloe Leaf juice to gently polish and give the skin a fine porcelain texture.
Forest Essentials Deeply Nourishing Facial Cleansing Paste – Review
The paste comes in a beautiful jar packaging with a gold lid. This product is a little smaller (30 g) compared to the regular 50 g packaging of most of the other products by the brand. The paste has a thick semi-sold consistency and a mild grainy feel. The blend contains ground almonds, pistachios and honey and helps remove dead skin by giving gentle physical exfoliation. I like to take about half a spoonful of this and massage it well on my damp skin. I love the rich scent (smells like a dessert!) and the slightly oily feel. It helps soften the skin, feels very nourishing and gives a really smooth feeling to the skin. After massaging this on the skin for about a minute, I add some water and it emulsifies with the water. It can then be rinsed off.
My skin looks energised but not red (since the exfoliation is mild) and feels soft and moisturised after use. It might leave a slight oily residue on the skin and I often follow this up with a clay based masque to complete the regime. Currently I’m using the Mysore Sandalwood and Nagkesar Masque, also from Forest Essentials and that gives a radiant boost to my skin while removing excess oil. The cleansing paste is ideal for dry, mature skin but even my combination-oily skin loves the nourishing feel of this. And since I follow it up with a clay based masque, I have no problem with the oily nature of the product. If you’re on the lookout for a luxurious, nourishing paste cleanser with nutritious ingredients, that also gives mild exfoliation, do give this a try!
