Sunday Recipe : Matar Kachauri

Hi everyone!

Hope you’re having a fabulous weekend! I’ve been very inspired in the kitchen these past few days (started around Holi time!) and have been cooking up quite a storm. Today afternoon I decided to make matar kachauris and thought I’d document the process to share with you all! I know that matar (green peas) dishes are more of a winter thing but I had some frozen peas at hand and had the sudden urge to indulge in some hot kachauris. Hope you enjoy this recipe and if you recreate it, do let me know how it turns out!

Sunday Recipe : 2 Healthy Quick Meals

Hey everyone!

In this week’s recipe edition, I’m sharing 2 quick and easy healthy recipes that I’ve been loving this past week. If you’re trying to eat healthier or lose weight, you’d love these fresh, filling and flavorful meals.

Veggie Delight Dalia

Veggie Delight Dalia

What you need :

Dalia (broken wheat, boiled in water)

Vegetables : Broccoli, capsicum, peas, carrots (or any mix of vegetables you have in the fridge)

Boiled corn, kidney beans (rajma)

– Cumin (jeera), 1 tbsp Oil, Salt, Pepper, Lemon

Dalia is basically broken wheat and I often substitute rice with dalia in our meals as its quite healthy. For this recipe, boil and cook the dalia in plain water till its softened and cooked. Heat oil in a pan, add the cumin (jeera) and when the seeds are crackling, stir fry the veggies till they are half way cooked. The vegetables should retain their crunch and not get mushy for this recipe. Add salt and pepper to the vegetables cooking in the pan. Add in the cooked dalia and mix well with the vegetables. Taste and adjust salt/pepper. Cook for about 2 minutes and turn off the heat. Garnish with fresh lemon juice before serving!
